THOUGHTS:
Given the colourful nature of this collection it was a challenge to pick backgrounds at the chosen location. The venue of the shoot being a modern home with sleek Spanish architecture , I chose to commit to the vibrant palette by further accentuating our looks with bright colourful make up and and headgear - in this case these interesting miniature birds I happened to come across at the Victoria & Albert Museum. This ensured our Model wasn't blending into her environments in anyway but complimenting them, many surfaces of which comprised of natural elements like stone, leather and wood. In fact it was the shoot that eventually inspired the name of the collection - Carnivale ( inspired by the colours of the looks seen at the annual Brazilian Carnival in Rio.
To add to the subtle 80's influences in the collection, I decided to go with a classic 80's hair movement - the crimp but opted for cleaner, less dramatic updos.

It was fun extending these looks to the final runway show.
